About Gonks.uk
Gonks.uk is an independent UK website all about gonks: the soft, bearded, hat-over-the-eyes figures that have become a favourite decoration in British homes.
We started the site because, for something so popular, good information about gonks was surprisingly hard to find. Most of what's online is either a shop selling its own stock or a quick news piece about the latest sell-out. We wanted one honest place that explains where gonks really come from, how to choose them for every season, how to buy them safely for children, and where to find them.
What you'll find here
- In-depth guides to Christmas, Halloween, Easter and seasonal gonks, their history, types, safety, care and more.
- Hand-picked gonks from UK shops, marketplaces and independent makers in our shop.
- A journal of seasonal buying calendars, family ideas and news.
Our approach
We write for UK readers, with UK shops, prices in pounds and UK safety rules in mind. We try hard to be accurate: where something is folklore or uncertain, we say so. If you spot a mistake, please let us know.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including Amazon, eBay and Etsy links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. It never affects what we write or recommend. Read our affiliate disclosure.
